Apple Computers

Apple was the favorite fruit of Steve Jobs. He and Steve Wozniak were trying to figure out a name for their new company, and they decided that if they couldn't think of one by the end of the day that was better than Apple, they would choose Apple. They couldn't think of anything better, so they named their company Apple Computer, Inc.

GoDaddy

GoDaddy was founded in 1997 as Jomax Technologies by Bob Parsons. The company Jomax changed its name to GoDaddy in 1999 when a group of employees were brainstorming on a more memorable name than Jomax Technologies. The name "Big Daddy" was suggested on the brainstorming session, but that domain was taken. So the idea was morphed into GoDaddy.

Motorola

Motorola was started in 1930 by manufacturing car radios; Founder Paul Galvin named it after a popular radio company at the time called Victrola. The name is a combination of "motor" and "Victrola".

Samsung

Samsung is a South Korean multinational conglomerate company, was started in 1938. Samsung is a Korean word which means "Tristar or Three Stars". According to the founder, The word "three" represents something "big, numerous and powerful"; the "stars" mean eternity.

HP (Hewlett-Packard)

HP, one of the largest computer and other hardware suppliers in the world is named after the founders Bill Hewlett and David Packard. They tossed a coin to decide whether the company should be named Hewlett-Packard or Packard-Hewlett and Hewlett-Packard was the result
